Modus Novus Music’s 2nd annual Call for Scores is upon us! We’re calling on you, dear listener, to submit your score in order to be considered for our 2nd season of concerts!
All you have to do is this:
- Write a 10-20 minute long piece for string quartet that is inspired by a mathematical formula, theorem, or principle. Notate it in the music notation software of your choice.
- Put the score file in a folder named “Score”, and the parts in a folder named “Parts”. Submit the score and all parts together in .pdf format BY JULY 1ST to email@example.com.
Find examples of work commissioned and performed during our 1st season’s concerts here: modusnovus.bandcamp.com
This year’s premiere performance will feature works inspired by principles found in mathematics. Some part (or all!) of your work should stem from your chosen principal(s). There are no other requirements, so go bananas! Write the piece you have been fantasizing about for years but didn’t have the balls to finish! Leave no stone unturned, friend.
We are recruiting string performers for this season! So if you are a college student or professional interested in performing with Modus Novus, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and introduce yourself!
